Chase gets a HELMET.

Actually........ It's a Doc Band.
Chase has a classic case of Plagiocephaly (abnormal head shape in infants). However, he is at the optimum age for treatment (3-6 months) and therefore should only have to wear the band for 2-3 months. The band applies mild holding pressures to redirect growth to the flattened areas. So far I don't even think he knows it's there. It only weighs 6 ounces. This last picture is him looking in the mirror so maybe he noticed he looked different. His day-care seemed pretty nervous when I gave them the instructions and told them it cost $3k. Fortunately our insurance is paying for it. He has to wear the helmet for 23 hours a day and do neck exercises 5 times a day. The neck stretches seem to be working already. So hopefully he will start to look to his right every now and then.
